103 Nepalis died in UAE in 2019: Embassy

As many as 203 Nepali working living and working in the United Arab Emirates died due to different causes, informs the Nepali Embassy in Abu Dhabi. The Embassy says 99 men and four women died in the past year.

Of them, 29 died in different accidents, including those on the road. One woman and 17 men committed suicide. The embassy’s information officer Bhuwan Ojha says family problems and workplace stress have become identified as causes of suicide.

One woman and 56 men died natural deaths. Ojha claims Nepalis also die due to high temperature, heart attack and alcoholism.

In 2018, the embassy had recorded 98 deaths of Nepalis including 89 men and nine women. Around 250,000 Nepalis are working in the UAE currently.
