Won’t join government, says Upendra Yadav

Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav

Kathmandu, July 10

The Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav says his party will not join the coalition government led by Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

“We have not thought anything about it,” he says, “When we feel the need to join the government, we will take an appropriate decision the very day.”

Speaking with journalists in Kathmandu today, Yadav, however, said his party would vote for endorsement of the constitution amendment bill when it will be put to vote.

“We are not against this proposal. We will vote in its favour,” Yadav said, a day after his party’s meeting had concluded that the bill was not sufficient to meet demands of the agitating Madhesh-centric parties.

Meanwhile, Yadav criticised another Madhesh-centric force, Rastriya Janata Party Nepal, for standing against the local level elections.

He was of the view that recent polls strengthened national unity.
