Kathmandu, September 19
Counting of votes of the third phase of local level elections held in eight districts of Province 2 has begun on Monday night, says the Election Commission.
The Commission says around 70 local units began counting yesterday and 60 more this morning. There are total 136 local units in the Province.
As of Tuesday morning, six major political forces are leading the count in different local units of the districts.
Reports from the districts inform that Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN-Maoist Centre, Rastriya Janata Party Nepal, Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal and Nepal Democratic Forum are in the lead.
Counting is underway under high security measures in these places so as to avoid any dispute during the process.
