The Narayangadh-Muglin road, which is undergoing expansion works for last couple of years, will be open for all vehicles around the clock so as to facilitate passengers leaving Kathmandu for their homes for Dashain festival from coming Wednesday, September 13.

The vital road connecting Kathmandu with the East-West Highway is currently closed for vehicles from 6 pm to 5 am.

Currently, most night buses heading to the west use the Muglin-Pokhara-Butwal route whereas those heading to the east ply the BP Highway.

Meanwhile, the Narayangadh-Muglin Road Project Chief Chandra Narayan Yadav says potholes along the road are being fixed to facilitate the vehicles. The potholes will be fixed within next few days, he claims.

“There will be no problem for the vehicles to use this road,” he says, “There is no possibility of any landslide as the monsoon is already over.”

He says the expansion works will continue along the route during Dashain as well.
