Panchthar, July 31

Monsoon-induced landslides have shut parts of the Mid-Hill Highway in Panchthar and Terhathum districts.

Around half a dozen landslides have occurred at the Sagarkhande section in Panchthar district following incessant rains, DSP Krishna Prasad Koirala, chief of Panchthar district police, informed.

With roads shut due to landslides, a number of travellers heading from Chuhan Danda and Sankranti Bazaar of Terhathum to Birtamod of Jhapa district and Ilam district via Panchthar district headquarters Fidim have remained stuck on the road. Some others have arrived at Fidim on foot.
