Asia Pacific Summit: Hun Sen, Suu Kyi in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, November 29

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and Myanmar’s State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi have arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday.

They are in the city at the invitation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

Meanwhile, the two will also participate at the Asia Pacific Summit being hosted by the Universal Peace Federation. The summit will begin in Kathmandu on Friday.

The organisers have said around 1,500 delegates representing 45 countries will attend the event. The summit will conclude on coming Tuesday.’

Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokharel received Sen and Suu Kyi. Nepal Army troops paid them guards of honour upon arrival.

Meanwhile, authorities have introduced odd-even rationing of the vehicles in Kathmandu in order to ensure smooth traffic during the guests’ movements. The rule has come into effect today and will last till Sunday.
