Nepal to host 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier

Kathmandu, July 30

Nepal is set to host the Global Qualifier tournament for the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. According to the ICC’s announcement, the tournament will take place in Nepal from January 12 to February 2, 2026. The matches will be held in two venues at Mulpani, Kathmandu, for the four places up for grabs at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 in England and Wales.

The tournament will feature 10 nations, and the top four teams will qualify for the Women’s T20 World Cup to be held in England and Wales. This will be the biggest cricket tournament ever hosted by Nepal.

Bangladesh and Ireland, having participated in the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup, have automatically qualified for the Global Qualifier.

From the Asia region, Thailand and Nepal have secured their spots, while the USA has qualified from the Americas region.

Two teams each from Africa and Europe, and one team from the East Asia-Pacific region, will qualify through their respective regional qualifiers.

The Qualifier in Nepal will see the 10 teams divided into two groups of five, followed by a Super Six stage and a Final. The full fixture for the tournament will be announced later.
