US wants to help Nepal improve immigration security

Kathmandu, March 15

US ambassador to Nepal Alaina B Teplitz has said her country wants to help Nepal improve its immigration security.

During a meeting with Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa. the envoy said that the US government would like to request Nepal to revise visa fees for Americans coming to Nepal.

The duo talked about the issues of human trafficking and Bhutanese and Tibetan refugees. According to the personal secretariat of the Minister for Home Affairs, the two discussed ways to strengthen ties through cooperation.

Thapa told the ambassador that his ministry was working on the issues raised during the meeting and progress would be made soon.
