Biratnagar, June 4
Two women have died when a house caught fire in Dharan sub-metropolitan city of Sunsari of eastern Nepal on Thursday morning.
The victims have been identified as 87-year-old Dhana Maya Shrestha and her 58-year-old Sita. Sita had a hearing disability.
It has been learned that Sita was inside her room on the second floor of the two-storey house when the building caught fire. Dhana Maya had gone into the room to save her, but she also succumbed to fire, according to DSP Dhundi Raj Neupane of the Area Police Office.
So far, police are clueless about the cause of the fire. They had contained it in one hour.
The losses caused by the incident are being calculated.
