Kathmandu, January 25
A Turkish Airlines flight from Kathmandu to Istanbul was halted on the runway and returned to the parking bay. The aircraft, operating flight TK-727, was scheduled to depart Kathmandu at 12:35 pm.
According to Tribhuvan International Airport Acting Director General Tek Nath Sitoula, the aircraft had already begun its take-off run after receiving clearance when an indicator signalled a technical issue, prompting the crew to stop the aircraft.
“After an indication showed a problem, the aircraft, which had already started its run, was halted and brought back,” he said, adding that the plane will resume its flight after a technical inspection.
