Kathmandu, March 30

The Nepal Army says its aircraft that was heading to Province 1 and Sudurpaschim to supply various medical equipment necessary for the test of coronavirus-suspected people and their treatment has returned to Kathmandu without completing the assignment.

The Skytruck aircraft was carrying masks, sanitisers, and personal protective equipment among other things, but it returned to Kathmandu after some packets of sanitiser produced some smells, according to a high-placed army official.

Nepal Army spokesperson Bigyan Dev Pandey says the aircraft was forced to return due to a ‘technical glitch’.

It is not immediately clear when and how the supplies will be delivered next. Earlier, the government had planned to transport the medical supplies that it brought from China yesterday to all the provinces today.
