Kathmandu, September 22
The Supreme Court has ordered the government to provide reasons for the arrest of Bharat Dahal. A bench led by Justice Kumar Regmi also ordered that Dahal be produced before the court.
Dahal was arrested from Belbari in Morang district last Sunday. Following his arrest, his daughter, Denika Dahal, filed a habeas corpus petition at the Supreme Court.
Dahal was arrested after a controversial interview he gave about geopolitical issues and the alleged involvement of senior political figures went viral on social media.
