Pokhara, October 16
Six paragliders fell into the Phewa Lake of Pokhara on Monday afternoon.
Police say all occupants including six pilots and five passengers are safe.
It has been learned that the pilots had lost control over their aircraft due to gale-force winds soon after they took off the Sarankot station at around 1 pm today.
Senior paragliding pilot Bhupal Gurung appreciated the pilots’ decision to safe-land the aircraft into the lake to save the passengers.
“They did not automatically fall down; but they were made to fall safely and gradually considering the pressure of winds.”
After that, the boats had rescued the passengers to avoid any casualty.
