Security upped along Nepal-India border in Kanchanpur, bid to curb cross-border crime during fests

With major festivals like Dashain and Tihar around the corner, police have upped security along the border with India in southern parts of Kanchanpur district.

Area Police Office Belauri has upped security in a bid to curb illegal weapons trade, women trafficking, drug smuggling and terrorist activities.

Inspector Bharat Chaudhary informed that they have arranged round the clock surveillance along the bordering areas in Kanchanpur in a bid to curb illegal activities.

He said Nepali security officials are working in close coordination with Indian security agencies.

As part of increased security, we have mobilised plainclothes security personnel on patrol.
