Sandeep Lamichhane finishes on the losing side in Big Bash League final

Kathmandu, February 17

Nepali ace leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane’s team, the Melbourne Stars have lost to rivals Melbourne Renegades in the final of the Big Bash League by 13 runs.

Batting first, the Renegades put up 145 in 20 overs with help from the Renegades’ late hitting from Dan Christian and Top Cooper. Lamichhane didn’t take a wicket but in his four-over spell only gave away 16 runs in his allotted four overs bowling 12 dot balls in the process as the Renegades’ batsmen failed to deal with the leg spinner’s googly.

His tight bowling helped the Stars pick regular wickets.

In reply, openers Marcus Stoinis and Ben Dunk put up a 93 run stand. But the Stars lost control of the game as they lost seven wickets in six overs, losing the match by 13 runs.

Lamichhane finishes the BBL with 11 wickets in eight matches.
