Design and Display

Design-wise, the Samsung Galaxy A35 5G is identical to its older sibling, the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G. It also gets the new key island design feature which bumps up the volume button and the power button a bit from the frame to give an island-like design situated on the ocean. On the back, the smartphone now features a glass back which was plastic in the A34 5G. The back features the same universal Samsung design with the triple rear camera setup.

The frame however isn’t metal and is still plastic but gives the metallic brushed finish for a premium feel. The frame has curved edges for a better grip. On the front, the A35 5G has a centred hole punch cutout which is an upgrade from last year’s A34 5G which has a water drop notch for the selfie camera.

The A35 5G features a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display, providing vibrant visuals with its FHD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, resulting in a density of approximately 390 pixels per inch. With a maximum brightness of 1000 nits, the display gives decent visibility in direct sunlight. It offers a smooth viewing experience with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The screen-to-body ratio is around 84.8 per cent which also gives an immersive viewing experience.

In terms of built quality, the A35 5G shares its glass protection and IP rating with its older sibling featuring Gorilla Glass Victus+ at the front and IP67 dust and water resistance.

Performance and Storage

The Samsung Galaxy A35 5G uses the in-house Samsung-built Exynos 1380 chipset built on a 5nm architecture. The Exynos 1380 is found in the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G which is the predecessor of the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G. Its octa-core CPU comprises four high-performance Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.75 GHz and four energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores running at 2.0 GHz for balanced power and efficiency. The Mali-G68 MP5 GPU enhances graphics performance for gaming and multimedia.
