Sajha Yatayat starts night bus service on five routes in Valley

The state-owned transport corporation, Sajha Yatayat, launched its night bus service in the Kathmandu Valley on Tuesday.

It will run its services along five routes from 8.30 pm till 11 pm daily.

Mahendra Raj Pandeya, chief executive officer, Sajha Yatayat, said they started the service in view of difficulties that commuters face at night. Sajah mainly aims to cater to odd-hour workers, caregivers at hospitals and people, who arrive at busparks late at night.

One of the buses will leave Patan Hospital and return to the same spot after passing through Tripureshwor Eye Hospital, Bir Hospital, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Ganga Lal Heart Centre and Neuro Hospital in Bansbari.

Another bus will operate along the New Road Gate-New Baneshwor-Koteshwor. The bus will provide its services up till 11.30 pm.

New Road Gate-Singhadurbar-Baneshwor-Tinkune-Airport-Gaushala-Chabahil-Jorpati is another route on which Sajha will operate its bus.

Another Sajha bus will operate along the New Road Gate-Tripureshwor-Kalimati-Kalanki route up till 11 pm. Sajha will also operate a bus along the Nepal Airlines Corporation (New Road)-Thamel-Sorhakhutte-New Buspark route. Regardless of the distances covered, the service will cost Rs 25 per passenger. The buses are equipped with CCTV cameras for security reason, Pandey informed.
