Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) General Secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya has urged the government to introduce necessary legislation to allow Nepalis living abroad to vote in the upcoming local elections.
Speaking during a meeting of the House of Representatives, Acharya called on the government to begin preparations immediately to ensure voting rights for Nepalis living overseas.
“I would like to draw the government’s attention to this. Work should begin today, giving priority to everything necessary to enable Nepalis living around the world to vote in this local election,” he said.
Acharya said the government should make the necessary legal and administrative arrangements well ahead of the election to facilitate voting by Nepalis abroad.
