RJPN finally files registration application at Election Commission

RJPN leaders Mahantha Thakur (r) and Rajendra Mahato.

Kathmandu, July 7

The Rastriya Janata Party Nepal has finally submitted its application for the party’s registration to the Election Commission.

Top leaders had gone to the Commission’s Office in Kantipath today for the registration.

The party, formed after the merger of six Madhesh-centric forces around three months ago, have authorised leader Mahantha Thakur to represent the party for the registration process at the Commission.

Though the party was preparing to get registered with the constitutional body a few days ago, it was not possible owing to an internal dispute over the party’s statute as some leaders demanded to include leader Gajendra Narayan Singh’s name in it.
