Kathmandu, June 6
Grande Hospital has said that composer of the national anthem, Ambar Gurung, is in stable condition at the hospital. Grande described reports and rumours about Gurung’s demise as baseless.
This comes amid reports in some media that Gurung, suffering from health complications like diabetes and hypertension, was no more.
Raju Gurung, son of lyricist, composer and singer Gurung, who is also associated with the Nepal Academy, has expressed sadness over the baseless news.
Raju told Onlinekhabar from the hospital: My father is in a stable condition. Some newspapers and social media have falsely stated that he is no more. This has caused pain to the family.
Binod Adhikari, information officer at Grande, also described Gurung’s condition as stable.
Gurung has written and sung popular songs like Ukali Chadha and Timi Bhul Ma Paryau.
