Relief supplies and medicines transported by cable crossing in Nuwakot (Photos)

Nuwakot, September 1

The devastating floods that swept through the Trishuli River after the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa overflowed on August 26 caused significant loss of life and property in both Rasuwa and Nuwakot.

Many people lost family members and homes, while many others were injured. Those affected are still waiting for relief supplies and medical assistance, along with ongoing treatment.

Floodwaters washed away bridges and roads that residents had regularly used for transportation, leaving many areas along the Trishuli River in Nuwakot resembling riverbeds.

With roads and bridges no longer available, a cable crossing has now been installed to facilitate movement. The cable crossing was set up over the Trishuli River to connect Ward 1 and Ward 9 of Bidur Municipality in Nuwakot.

The crossing was installed on Tuesday morning to make it easier for residents to travel between the two sides of the river. Relief supplies and medicines have also begun to be transported using the cable crossing.
