Kathmandu, September 3
Following the devastating flood on the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa, electricity supply that had been disrupted in Nuwakot has now been restored to about 90 percent of the district.
According to the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, power supply has been restored in most areas of Nuwakot.
According to the details released by the Ministry of Energy, electricity supply has been restored in roughly 90 percent of Nuwakot’s area.
The Ministry stated that after the Chapali-Devighat right circuit was energised, power supply was restored to additional areas of Nuwakot. It noted that voltage has also improved as electricity supply has become more reliable than before in most parts of the district.
Areas where power has now been restored include Ward No. 6 of Bidur Municipality and roughly half of Ward No. 3 of Bidur Municipality, Wards No. 1, 5, and 6 of Tarakeshwar Municipality, Wards No. 2 and 3 of Tarakeshwar Municipality, and Ward No. 7 of Belkotgadhi Municipality. An additional 31 transformers have also been energised, according to the details.
However, the Ministry noted that power supply has yet to be restored in Ward No. 12 of Bidur Municipality, the remaining half of Ward No. 3 of Bidur Municipality, Kispang Rural Municipality, Ward No. 8 of Belkotgadhi Municipality, and Ward No. 10 of Bidur Municipality.
The Ministry of Energy said that following damage to electrical infrastructure in Nuwakot, repair and restoration work is underway to resume full supply.
