Medical entrepreneur and coordinator of the Citizens’ Rescue Grand Campaign, Durga Prasai, has been released on an attendance bond.
Prasai, who was arrested from Pokhara on Monday and brought to Kathmandu, was released following an order by the Kathmandu District Government Attorney’s Office to grant him release on attendance bond. SP Pawan Kumar Bhattarai at the Kathmandu District Police Range confirmed his release.
Prasai had alleged that the Election Commission accepted Rs 520 million in bribes to legitimise the Congress faction backing a special general convention.
