Redmi Note 11 is one of the latest smartphones in Xiaomi’s note series.

The Note series from Xiaomi is famously known for being budget-friendly with an abundance of features. The Note series has always been an interesting purchase here in Nepal and is also one of the best-selling smartphones here. Redmi Note 11 is no exception as it brings some new and interesting features for the users at an exciting price.

Design and display

Redmi Note 11 features a similar design to its predecessor Redmi Note 10. The phone features a flat frame design with a minimalistic style. On the front, it has a centre cut out punch-hole display whereas on the back it features a camera panel that houses a quad-camera setup. The phone has a thickness of 8.1mm and weighs around 179 grams. It also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The phone features a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and can reach a peak brightness of up to 1000 nits. The reading mode 3.0 on the phone will help reduce the eye strain. There is a Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the display. It also has a 180Hz touch sampling rate and has a maximum resolution of 2,400*1,080 pixels.

Redmi Note 11 has a quad-camera setup on the back and has a single selfie shooter at the front.  The 50MP camera on the back is housed together with an 8MP, 118 degrees ultrawide, 2MP macro and another 2MP depth sensor. On the front is a 13MP camera for selfies.

Surprisingly, the new Redmi Note 11 can only record videos in 1080p from both cameras. The rear camera on the Redmi Note 10 could record videos in 4K resolution.

Redmi Note 11 runs on Android 11 with MIUI 13 on top. The phone is powered by a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G (6nm) chipset and the graphics are handled by Adreno 610. This is a huge boost in the performance of the previous generation. The new chipset results in faster, more powerful and more energy-efficient performance from the phone.

The phone has a 5000mAh non-removable battery backup. It supports a 33W Pro fast charging which the company claims is 21% faster with improved charging efficiency than the regular fast-charging system. This allows the phone to get fully charged in just 61 minutes. Once the phone is fully charged, it provides 22 hours of video, 43 hours of calls and 215 hours of music playback time.

Connectivity, storage and price

Redmi Note 11 supports dual nano sims. The phone is also compatible with Wi-Fi 802.11 and has Bluetooth 5.0 for faster connectivity. The phone uses a USB Type-C 2.0 for pairing. As for the audio, it has dual stereo speakers and provides a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The phone comes in different variants. The base variant is 4/64GB which will cost Rs 22,999; the 4/128GB variant will cost Rs 24,999, and the max 6/128GB will cost Rs 26,999. 

The buyer will get three colour options– graphite grey, pearl white, and star blue –to choose from.

Well, Xiaomi’s Note series has always been a great smartphone considering its price. Being from one of the most sold smartphone series in Nepal, the build quality and the features of this new phone is impressive for its price range. Overall, the new Redmi Note 11 has definitely added more value to the Note series.

Xiaomi has managed to make the Note series even thinner this time. Yet, the new Redmi Note 11 also features a number of new features. It features a 33W Pro charging system; this system allows the phone to get 21% faster charging. The phone also features a new, powerful and efficient chipset allowing the phone to perform better and faster. The phone features a quad camera setup. However, the phone can only record videos in 1080p while the previous generation could record in 4K.

Yet, this is a great smartphone for this price range and will definitely go for a long run despite the early release.
