Redmi is one of the most dominant mid-range smartphones in Nepal and India. It is also one of the most sold smartphone brands in both countries. The brand has been consistently bringing a variety of smartphones with great specifications at an affordable price.

Its latest release Redmi 10 Prime is set to be released in the Nepali market very soon. This device provides some interesting features like a dual mic, dual speakers, different camera features, and filters which can be a great deal for the content creators. It will be difficult to find the same features on other phones at a similar price range. Hence, it definitely will be a great threat to the existing smartphones of a similar price range.

Design and display

Marketed as “an all-round superstar”, Redmi 10 Prime comes with an Evol design. While the build of the phone is yet to be known, the display, however, has Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone has splash-proof, corrosion-proof ports, dual graphite sheets, and rubberised seals. To unlock the phone, there is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The phone comes with 6.5 inches of FHD+ display that has a refresh rate of 90Hz and a 1,080* 2,400-pixel resolution. The phone has a thickness of 9.56mm which is comparatively thick than the phone of the same category. Also, it weighs around 192 grams; it may be difficult to fit in your pockets as this is a huge phone.

The 90Hz display can be very unique, given there are not many smartphones in the market in this price category that provides a 90Hz display feature. Also, the display on the phone has an adaptive refresh rate which means the phone will automatically switch its refresh rates between the apps.

There is a quad-camera setup on the rear side of this phone and a single camera on the front. The front part of the device houses an 8MP camera whereas there is a 50MP primary camera on the back, accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide camera with a 120 field of view (FOV), a 2MP macro camera, and another 2MP depth sensor.

Both cameras on the front and rear can capture videos on 1080p. This is the first 50MP camera from the house of Redmi. To enhance the photography skill of the user, the phone has different pre-installed photography modes.

Redmi 10 Prime runs on Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 and is powered by an Octa-core MediaTek Helio G88 chipset. The graphics of this device are handled by Mali-G52 MC2.  This is a massive upgrade from its predecessor Redmi 9 Prime.

Redmi 10 Prime gets all the power it needs to function from a mammoth 6000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery. It supports 18W fast charging and also supports up to 9W reverse charging. This battery life can provide an adequate time for your online class, movies, or binge-watching.

Redmi 10 Prime comes with two variants of 4/64GB and 6/128GB. Also, the memory of this device can be increased through a microSDXC card. There is a dedicated slot for the card. Another interesting thing about this device is the RAM storage can be extended up to 2GB.

There is Wifi-802.11 on this device along with Bluetooth 5.1 and supports NFC as well. For further connection, the device supports a USB Type-C 2.0, USB On-The-Go. There is also a 3.5mm audio jack, IR blaster, and FM radio on the phone.
