The Redmi 13 4G, the successor to last year’s popular and well-loved Redmi 12 budget smartphone, is now officially available in Nepal. The 13 4G was official in the Indian market on June 3rd and has shortly made its way to Nepal. Redmi captured the Nepali smartphone audience with the attractive pricing and features in the Redmi 12.

This year Redmi 13 4G has a few upgrades to the Redmi 12 including build, chipset, camera, battery and charging. With a sleek and minimalistic but aesthetic design language, the Redmi number series has received wide appreciation over the years. The Redmi 10 and Redmi 11 were also very successful in Nepal.

The Redmi 13 4G will compete against Realme C55, Samsung Galaxy A05s, OnePlus Nord N200 5G and Oppo A57 in Nepal. Let us see what the smartphone delivers in terms of specs.

Design and Display

The Redmi 13 4G’s design is similar to the Redmi 12 with minor changes like the thickness, colour and rear camera. The rear camera 13 is slightly larger than that of the 12. The rings around the rear camera have a shiny metal finish. The back is made up of glass which is very rare in the price segment. The inclusion of glass has made the smartphone protected and also gives a premium touch. The frame is made up of plastic and has a brushed aluminium finish.

The Redmi 13 4G display has a premium look with the centre-hole punch cutout where the selfie camera is located. The bezels on the top and sides are equal and thin whereas the bottom bezel is slightly thicker. It features a 6.79-inch FHD+ DotDisplay with a resolution of 2460 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of 396 ppi. The display supports a refresh rate of up to 90Hz and has a typical brightness of 450 nits, with a high brightness mode reaching 550 nits.

The display includes a reading mode, TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light hardware solution, TÜV Rheinland Circadian Friendly certification, TÜV Rheinland Flicker Free certification and DC dimming to keep the eye strain low. It also has IP53 dust and splash resistance for further protection.

Performance and Storage

The Redmi 13 4G is powered by the MediaTek Helio G91 Ultra chipset built on a 12nm process. It has an octa-core CPU consisting of 2 cores running at 2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 and 6 cores running at 1.8 GHz Cortex-A55. The GPU is a Mali-G52 MC2. The device runs on Hyper OS, which is based on Android 14.

The Redmi 13 4G is available in two memory configurations; 6GB and 8GB RAM which are paired with 128GB and 256GB storage respectively. There is a hybrid SIM slot which can help extend the storage up to 1TB using an external MicroSD card.

Camera

The Redmi 13 4G gets an upgrade in terms of camera. The dual rear camera setup includes a 108MP main camera with a 6P lens and an f/1.75 aperture. It also includes a 2MP macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The camera offers various modes, including custom frame, 108MP mode, HDR mode, night mode, portrait mode and time-lapse. For video recording, the rear camera supports 1080p HD at 30 fps and 720p HD at 30 fps.

The front camera of the Redmi 13 4G is a 13MP sensor with an f/2.45 aperture. It includes features such as film camera mode, HDR mode, soft-light ring, portrait mode and time-lapse. The front camera supports video recording at 1080p HD at 30 fps and 720p HD at 30 fps.

Battery and Others

The Redmi 13 4G features a 5030mAh battery which is very slightly larger than the Redmi 12. The smartphone supports 33W wired charging which is a huge jump from 18W. For wireless connectivity, it includes Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with dual-band capability and Bluetooth 5.4 for stable connections for wireless connection. The smartphone supports LTE for mobile networks and includes a hybrid dual SIM slot which can either hold two SIM cards or one SIM card and one microSD card.

Audio of the Redmi 12 4G is delivered through a single speaker and has a 3.5mm headphone jack for users who prefer wired audio devices. Security is enhanced with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for quick and secure unlocking. Other sensors include a Virtual proximity sensor, an Ambient light sensor, an Accelerometer and an Electronic compass.

The Redmi 13 4G is available in three colours: midnight black, pearl pink, and ocean blue.

The Redmi 13 4G is official in Nepal. It is available at Rs 18,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant; and Rs 21,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant.
