Realme Buds Air 3 earbud was released alongside its flagship smartphone Realme GT 2 series recently. Realme Buds Air 3, as the successor of Realme’s Buds Air 2, is expected to arrive in Nepal within a few weeks although it is not available here currently.

Realme has been one of the most active companies releasing various models of smartphones over a short period of time. In addition, it is also on the verge of creating an ecosystem of its own by adding various gadgets and technology under its belt.

Last year was a great year for the brand as it emerged as one of the best smartphone brands in the world. Realme’s premium mid-range phone, Realme GT Neo 2, was also considered one of the best smartphones in its category. Realme even hopped into number 6 as the largest smartphone brand according to the global market share and is in number 3 in Nepal.

Hence, the users can expect a better year from the brand and the introduction of Realme Buds Air 3 should heighten the expectation. Let’s get into the details of the product.

There are no significant changes in terms of design. The Realme Buds Air 3 has the same stem-styled design as Buds Air 2. This earbud features a professional-grade liquid crystal polymer diaphragm. Realme Buds Air 3 also offers up to 42dB noise cancellation, a major upgrade from its predecessor which has 25dB noise cancellation. Realme also claims that this is the first noise-cancelling earbud to have a TUV Rheinland certification.

The Realme Buds Air 3 supports touch controls to play/pause music, skip track, and switch noise control mode. The bud is also IPX5 water resistance certified, but it is not the same for its case. The company also claims to have tested over 1,000 prototypes to find the most ergonomic shape and perfect weight.

Realme Buds Air 3 is available in two colour options—galaxy white and starry blue.

Realme Buds Air 3 features the most powerful noise cancellation yet in a Realme device. The earbud is fitted with 10mm dynamic bass boost drivers for punchy bass. It also features dual noise-cancelling microphones and an environmental noise cancellation that filters out the background noise during the calls.

There is also a transparency mode in the earbud that enables the users to hear sound from the surrounding environment, allowing them to keep up a conversation while wearing earbuds. All one need to do is long-press both earbuds for two seconds to switch between ANC and transparency modes. The user can also create a customised profile for the audio to the preferred sensitivity of the user’s ears.

The earbud also features a low latency of 88ms, which can be good for gaming. The low latency should be able to synchronise audio and video.  It also features an anti-wind call noise cancellation.

In terms of battery life, Realme Buds Air 3 can provide up to 5.5 hours of battery life with active noise cancellation (ANC) on and seven hours of normal mode. The battery life with the case rises up to 22 hours with ANC on and up to 30 hours on a normal mode.

The earbud should get fully charged in 100 minutes with the case while it takes around 60 minutes for the earbud only to get fully charged. Also, if the user is in hurry, 10 minutes of charge can provide up to 100 minutes of playback time. The earbud gets charged from a USB Type-C cable.

The official price of Realme Buds Air 3 is EUR 60. The earbud is not available in Nepal yet but you can expect it under Rs 10,000 when it is available here.
