Twelve of the 19 people taken to Bir Hospital after being rescued from the Rasuwa floods have been discharged following treatment, the hospital said on Tuesday morning.
According to Dr Anita GC, assistant director and spokesperson at Bir Hospital, 40-year-old Tshiring Chhumo Ghale, 3-year-old Dona Tamang and 3-year-old Paldung Tamang were discharged after receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the flood.
Similarly, 24-year-old Bibhushan Subedi, 32-year-old Narayan Krishna Shrestha, 96-year-old Siang Li Junon, 58-year-old Lizhi, 52-year-old Chen Fei, 35-year-old Krishna Bhatt, 34-year-old Kush Kumar Shrestha, 48-year-old Nurbu Ghale and 58-year-old Ritesh Bahadur Shrestha were discharged and sent home after treatment.
The hospital said 70-year-old Bharat Bahadur Nepali was referred to the Trauma Center for further treatment.
Five patients who require additional treatment are currently receiving care in different wards, according to the hospital.
Among them, 53-year-old Suman Mijar and 35-year-old Suman Khadka have been admitted to Bir Hospital for further treatment. Likewise, 26-year-old Utsav Pyakurel, who was initially receiving treatment in the emergency department, was admitted to the neurosurgery ward at 6 pm on August 31 and is continuing treatment there, according to the hospital.
The hospital said 75-year-old Guna Keshari Bohora is receiving treatment under medical supervision due to a chronic respiratory condition, while 53-year-old Tulsi Bahadur Bhandari is being treated for an ear injury.
Earlier, 38-year-old Biratman Tamang was referred to Nepal Eye Hospital for further treatment after sustaining an eye injury.
Meanwhile, one of the people brought to the hospital has died.
