Janakpurdham, October 3
A woman was found dead in Gaushala of Mahottari district on Thursday. The victim has been identified as Sharmila Danuwar, 22, a resident of Gaushala-10. The victim is said to be differently-abled.
Police recovered the body from the bank of local Maraha stream near her house. SP Shyam Krishna Adhikari of the District Police Office says the victim’s head has many scars, so it is clear that she was murdered.
Police have suspected she was raped. However, they are waiting for a medical report for confirmation.
“We have begun the investigation,” Adhikari adds.
