Kathmandu, September 27
Nepal Telecom’s services have been disrupted in various parts of the country due to continuous rain, windstorms, floods and landslides. The company said the disruption has been ongoing since September 24, caused by persistent rainfall and windstorms across multiple locations.
According to the company, heavy rain and landslides have made it difficult for technical teams to reach affected areas, and optical fibre lines have also been damaged. Power supply disruptions, along with reduced efficiency of solar sites due to snowfall, rain and cloud cover, have further hampered service operations.
Nepal Telecom said repair work that can be handled remotely through the system is ongoing, and physical repairs are being carried out wherever possible. The company has technical teams on standby, ready to be deployed to affected sites once weather conditions improve.
Nepal Telecom apologised for the inconvenience caused to customers and thanked them for their patience during the difficult conditions caused by floods, landslides and continuous rain.
