Province 2 traffic police require public vehicles to cross 225 km in 5 hrs

Province 2

Janakpurdham, September 22

Traffic police in Province 2 have introduced a new rule for public vehicles plying a 225-km section of East-West Highway in the province, which requires the vehicles to pass the section from Bhardaha of Saptari to Pathalaiya of Bara in five hours and 25 minutes.

The Province 2 Traffic Police Office in Pathalaiya announced the beginning of a ‘time card system’ recently, in which the police would keep records of the time the vehicles reach key identified points of the highway.

The office divided the 225-km span into two sections and allocated different times for each. The vehicles have to cross the 125-km section from Bhardaha to Lalgadh of Dhanusha in two hours and 45 minutes whereas the remaining 100 km in two hours and 40 minutes.

The office also introduced a similar rule for short route vehicles.

Police have warned that the drivers violating the rule would be punished.
