Janakpurdham, April 24
The government of Province 2 has tabled a budget of Rs 1.25 billion for the remaining period of the current fiscal year.
Finance Minister Bijay Kumar Yadav tabled the budget at a meeting of the Provincial Assembly on Tuesday.
Yadav said the budget would go towards funding programmes related to the welfare of farmers, promotion of sanitation and pisciculture. Similarly, budget has been allocated for the establishment of the Madhesh Academy Fund.
The minister told the assembly that his government has also set aside funds for agriculture, irrigation and tourism.
Other programmes incorporated in the budget are related to the establishment of a reconstruction fund, and mechanisms to address the issue of violence against women.
