The Parliamentary Hearing Committee of the House of Representatives begins hearings today for ambassadors proposed to 13 countries.
According to the Parliament Secretariat, the committee will meet at 11:15 am today. Complaints received against the proposed ambassadors will be distributed to committee members at the meeting.
The agenda for today’s meeting also includes distributing the work plans submitted by the proposed ambassadors to committee members.
Seven complaints have been filed against the 13 proposed ambassadors. Two complaints are against all of them, while five name individuals.
A Cabinet meeting held on September 18 decided to recommend ambassadors to 13 countries.
The government has recommended Dr Nischal Nath Pandey for India, Dr Kalyan Raj Sharma for China, Chiran Jung Thapa for the United States, and former Chief of the Army Staff Gaurav Shamsher Jung Bahadur Rana for the United Kingdom.
It has also recommended Jigyan Kumar Thapa for Japan, Suresh Kumar Karna for Israel, Prapti Sherchan for Spain, Saru Joshi for Germany, Dr Padmakshi Rana for Oman, Chudamani Kharel for Malaysia, Prof Dr Sangam Shrestha for South Korea, Dr Manchala Jha for Sri Lanka and Giri Bahadur Sunar for Saudi Arabia.
