The Narayangadh-Muglin road section and the Chitwan section of the Prithvi Highway remain blocked due to landslides triggered by rainfall.
Both roads were obstructed by landslides from around 8pm on Thursday.
According to Chitwan District Police Office chief SP Rameshwar Poudel, continuous landslides at several locations have prevented the roads from being fully reopened.
Vehicles heading towards Pokhara and those travelling towards Narayangadh that had been stranded on the roads were allowed to pass on Friday afternoon.
However, the roads remain unsafe for regular traffic as landslides carrying rocks and mud continue to fall at several points, Poudel said.
Vehicles arriving since Thursday have been stranded along the affected sections. The local administration has restricted traffic movement considering the risk posed by the continuing landslides.
