Kathmandu, August 14

The CPN-Maoist Centre has finalised the team of ministers that will represent the party in the government under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Krishna Bahadur Mahara.

Despite speculations that he may be a part of the Prachanda-headed government, Maoist leader and lawmaker from Madhesh, Prabhu Sah, is not in the team. Instead, the team includes Ajaya Shankar Nayak, a Maoist lawmaker selected through the PR system, from Siraha.

Prime Minister Prachanda finalised the names of Maoist ministers after holding talks with his close aides on Sunday morning. A leader said Prachanda has finalised five names for ministerial berths.  The ministers are Janardan Sharma ‘Prabhakar’, Ram Karki, Hit Raj Pandey and Dhani Ram Poudel.

The new Cabinet members are Janardan Sharma ‘Prabhakar’, Ram Karki, Hit Raj Pandey, Dhani Ram Poudel and Ajaya Shankar Nayak

The party had proposed making Sah Minister for Law, but Sah had sought the Ministry of Local Development.

These candidates have been directed to be ready for oath-taking.
