Kathmandu, January 25

Police have used excessive force to suppress a protest organised by the civil society outside the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s official residence in Baluwatar on Monday.

They used batons and water cannons to disperse the protesters. In the process, some have sustained injuries also.

Addressing the mass after the police suppression, journalist Narayan Wagle who was leading the demonstration said the civil society could launch the third People’s Movement if the prime minister’s decision to dissolve the House of Representatives was not scrapped.
