The police shot and arrested the main accused in the murder of Rupesh Swarnakar, the principal of Bal Ekta English Boarding School, Bara.

DSP Dadhi Ram Neupane said that 32-year-old Sujit Singh was shot and arrested from Bishrampur Rural Municipality 3 in Bara on Tuesday at 8 pm.

The arrested Singh is a resident of Chodadar in the Motihari district of Bihar, India. Singh, who was injured by bullets in both legs, is being treated at the provincial hospital in Kalaiya.

According to DSP Neupane, the police followed a group of four people including Singh based on information that they had come to Nepal. When he saw the police and started running, Singh was shot in the leg and taken into custody, DSP Neupane said.

The police said that eight people were involved in the murder of Principal Swarnakar. Earlier, Radha Gupta, Jaber Akhtar, Chandan Yadav, Riyaz Ansari and Abhinav Kumar Singh, who lived in Kalaiya sub-metropolitan city-2 of Bara, are in police custody on the charge of his murder.
