Hetaunda, December 8
Police in Makawanpur district have detained dozens of students who were heading towards a function to be organised by the communist party led by Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’. The government has banned the party’s activities.
The Manahari Area Police Post detained the students of local Sita Secondary School whereas the Newarpani post detained those of Pashupati Secondary School. They were going to Chitwan on different buses to join the party’s demonstration against India. The party’s student wing was hosting the demonstration against the recently launched disputed political map of India.
Police say there were some teachers also.
