Pokhara prepares to launch e-ticketing in public transport after one month

Pokhara, June 13

Pokhara Metropolitan City is preparing to launch an e-ticketing system in the city’s public transport from mid-July.

Earlier, the city government had announced to introduce the technology in mid-May. An agreement was signed with transport entrepreneurs and a consulting company also.

“But, it was not as easy as we had tough,” Mayor Man Bahadur GC says, adding the city is committed to launching the system after one month now.

Meanwhile, the city government and the consulting company began training bus workers about the system from Wednesday. It will continue for next one month.

Total 800 bus owners, drivers and conductors will be trained in the first phase, according to Dipendra Narayan Shrestha, CEO of the consulting company, n.Cloud Pvt Ltd.

The second phase of the project is expected to begin after around six months.
