Pokhara paragliding: Russian national killed in second fatal accident of the week

A Russian national died when the tourist fell from a paraglider in Pokhara, one of the most popular tourist destinations of Nepal, on Tuesday.

This is the second fatal accident in the popular tourism activity in the Lake City in past one week. On Sunday, a Romanian pilot was killed in a similar accident.

The Russian national’s name and other details are immediately unknown.

The paraglider had fallen on the ground minutes after it took off from Sarankot. The tourist was immediately rescued and taken to the Metro City Hospital, but died in the course of treatment, according to Santosh Subedi, a local police official.
