Kathmandu, August 15
An on-duty Nepali Army soldier in Pokhara of Kaski district had opened fire on his asleep colleague to murder him in the wee hours on Tuesday.
Lance corporal Basanta Lohar, a permanent resident of Darchula district, killed Ganesh Bista from Baitadi, according to police.
Police said Lohar was on duty from 3 am to 6 am today and he opened fire on the asleep colleague at around 4:30.
It has been suspected that the crime was committed owing to an interpersonal dispute, says Police Inspector Basanta Sharma at Baidam Ward Police Post.
Lohar is under detention of army whereas the victim’s body has been taken to the Western Regional Hospital in Pokhara for postmortem.
