Pokhara International Airport construction begins

Kathmandu, August 2

Construction works have begun for the country’s second international airport in Pokhara of Kaski district on Wednesday.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Jitendra Narayan Dev launched the project amid a function organised in Pokhara today.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Dev expressed his hope that the airport would be a milestone in Nepal’s infrastructural development.

The construction work is scheduled to be over by July 10, 2021.

Foundation stones for the project had been laid for than one year ago by the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

The Exim Bank of China has invested a loan of around Rs 22 billion for the construction. Nepali and Chinese workers have been deployed in the project.
