Pokhara hotel catches fire, property worth Rs 30 million gutted

Kathmandu, January 11

Property worth around Rs 30 million was destroyed when a hotel based in Lakeside, Pokhara, caught fire on Tuesday evening.

The fire erupted at around 10.30 pm at Tristar Hotel and Cafe based in Barahi Chok. It quickly spread to Three Star Money Changer, the office of Cross-River Rafting and the ATM counter of Sunrise Bank, police said.

Locals and security personnel joined hands and brought the fire under control about two hours later by mobilising two fire engines from Pokhara municipality and Pokhara Airport. It is said a gas cylinder blast caused the fire.
