Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli waves as he arrives at Kathmandu airport from Singapore for his treatment, on Friday, September 6, 2019.

Kathmandu, September 6

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli came back to Kathmandu on Friday afternoon. He had gone to Singapore on a medical trip on August 22.

Initially, he was scheduled to stay there for around 10 days, but the trip was extended after he was required to undergo several rounds of plasmapheresis to remove antibodies so as to improve his kidney function.

Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokharel, other ministers and leaders from his Nepal Communist Party welcomed Oli at the Tribhuvan International Airport this afternoon.

Oli waved at journalists and smiled, but refused to speak with them at the airport.

However, his doctor Dibya Singh Shah issuing a statement has said that PM Oli’s health is normal and that his treatment in Singapore was a success. She further added that the PM could also carry out his regular work.
