Fanindra Luintel of Okhaldhunga district has moved the Truth and Reconciliation Commission against CPN-Maoist Centre Chair Prachanda and other Maoist leaders, in connection with the abduction and killing of his father Guru Prasad Luintel during the Maoist insurgency.

In his complaint, Fanindra has also accused in-charge of the Maoists’ Eastern Command at that time, Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’, member of the CPN-Maoist Centre Peshal Khatiwada and former lawmaker and then chief of a local people’s government, Keshav Rai, then Okhaldhunga district in-charge and YCL President Ram Chandra Sharma ‘Bigyan’.

Fanindra has also charged Maoist leaders and cadres Baburam Gautam of Pokali, Mohan Khadka of Simhadevi, Anita Ghimire of Ragani, Suresh Thapa of Fulbari and Tilak Khatri with the crime.

He has also blamed Nandahari Dahal of Baruneshwor, Tanka Khatri of Harkapur and Pushpa Raj Poudel ‘Jivanta’ of Sainpu, Ramechhap, for the abductin and killing of his father, who was teacher at Gyan Prakash Higher Secondary School based in Ghorakhori, Okhaldhunga.

Maoist rebels had allegedly abducted Luintel, district president of a CPN-UML-affiliated teachers’ organisation, from Ghorakhari on September 8, 2003 and killed him at Rampur. In the complaint numbered 1668, Fanindra has said there should be no amnesty for those involved in the extra-judicial killing.
