More than 70,000 Nepalis received labour permits for foreign employment in Shrawan, including renewals, according to the Department of Foreign Employment.
A total of 70,441 people obtained labour approval during the month. Of them, 60,472 were men and 9,969 were women.
According to the department, 42,693 people received new labour approvals, while 27,748 obtained re-entry labour approvals.
Of those receiving new approvals, 29,447 went through recruitment agencies, while 12,442 obtained individual labour approval. Another 712 people went abroad through government-to-government (G2G) arrangements.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) was the most popular destination for Nepali migrant workers in Shrawan, with 18,784 people receiving labour approval.
Similarly, 12,498 people received approval for Malaysia, 10,360 for Qatar, and 8,613 for Saudi Arabia.
In the previous month, Ashad, 69,362 people had received labour approval for foreign employment.
Meanwhile, a total of 792,187 Nepalis received labour approval to go abroad for employment in fiscal year 2082/83.
