Upendra Yadav, president of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal, said on Tuesday his party has zero concern over the impeachment motion against suspended CIAA Chief Commissioner Lokman Singh Karki. Referring to three major parties, which elevated Karki as CIAA chief, though the Mallik Commission had deemed him ineligible for such an appointment because of his involvement in suppressing Janaandoln II as then Chief Secretary, Yadav said it’s unclear as to why the parties are for impeaching Lokman.

The parties registering the impeachment motion are the ones, who had elevated Lokman as CIAA chief. These parties have not discussed the motion with us, so it is not a matter of our concern

Yadav was speaking at a press conference that Press Forum had organised. The reason behind the motion is unclear and the parties registering it in the House have not held discussions on the matter with us, he said, adding: That’s why impeachment is none of our concern.

In the first place, the parties that appointed Lokman as CIAA chief should explain why they are seeking to impeach him now, Yadav said. Yadav threatened to move the court if parties come in the way of Constitution amendment in the name of pursuing the motion.

He threatened to launch a fresh movement for what he called a new revolution if those concerned do not come up with a Constitution Amendment Regulation before the festival of Chhath.

If there’s no Constitution, Madheshi, indigenous nationalities, Tharu, Muslim, Dalit and Women will stage a revolt, Yadav threatened and asked ruling parties to be cautious about this possibility.
