Kanchanpur, November 20
Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba said on Sunday political parties have already agreed on several issues related to Constitution amendment. Speaking at a press meet at Bhimduttanagar, Deuba said Constitution amendment will happen shortly and local elections will take place.
Deuba claimed that local elections will take place within Chaitra (about four months from now).
He ruled out the possibility of creating a federal structure comprising 10 provinces, a day after Federal Socialist Forum President Upendra Yadav said there should be 10 provinces in the federal setup.
Deuba said the Far-West spanning from Kailali to Kanchanpur will be one province.
On a different note, he accused the media of spreading rumours that naturalised citizens too will be eligible for executive positions in the new scheme of things. He said this is not true.
