Birgunj, February 21
A 13-year-old boy died in the Thori rural municipality of the Parsa district of southern Nepal after being hit by an SUV on Tuesday morning.
The victim has been identified as Bishwas Shrestha, a resident of Bijayabasti, Thori-4, who was hit by a Scorpio (Bagmati Province 1-027-Cha 0303) in his own neighbourhood along the Postal Highway at around 8 am today.
Seriously injured in the accident, he was taken to Terai Hospital and Research Centre, Birgunj, where he died during treatment, informs DSPP Deepak Giri of the Parsa District Police Office.
Law enforcers have arrested the SUV driver Padam Bilas Panta, a resident of Madi municipality-3 in the Chitwan district.
While further investigation is underway, the body has been sent to the Narayani Hospital for postmortem.
