Kathmandu, August 24
Meetings of five parliamentary committees are scheduled to take place today, with discussions ranging from tourism legislation and human-wildlife conflict to infrastructure development and livestock disease control.
According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, the Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee will meet at 9:30 am, followed by the Infrastructure Development Committee at 10 am and the International Relations and Tourism Committee at 11 am. The Legislation Management Committee will meet at 1 pm, while the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee is scheduled for 2 pm.
The International Relations and Tourism Committee will discuss the Tourism Bill, 2025 with the Nepal Mountaineering Association and other stakeholders.
The Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee will discuss a report prepared by a technical task force formed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forests and Environment to address human-wildlife conflict.
The Infrastructure Development Committee will hold discussions on infrastructure development and public-private partnerships. Representatives from the Investment Board Nepal, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Nepal Chamber of Commerce, Confederation of Nepalese Industries and Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry have been invited to the meeting.
The Legislation Management Committee will hold a theoretical discussion on the Contagious Animal Diseases (Control) Bill, 2026. The committee has invited the agriculture minister, secretaries of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forests and Environment and the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
Meanwhile, the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee will discuss pastureland policy with expert Dhan Prasad Lamichhane, who has been invited to the meeting.
